Avoid credit card fees with the new AirPlus centrally billed account

The AirPlus Debit Account, launched today, is currently the only lodge card product worldwide, which is exempt from the credit card fee charged by Lufthansa and SWISS airlines. In addition to being immune from the surcharge, the AirPlus Debit Account offers many features of the "classical" lodge account. It can be used with over 250 airlines and also for selected train tickets, car rentals and hotel reservations, as well as other travel agency services. Upon request, companies can allocate additional corporate data, such as cost centres, employee IDs or project codes. Transaction fees are itemized and invoice data is provided in an electronic form. Optional extras for the AirPlus Debit Account include the comprehensive insurance cover.

Account details of the AirPlus Debit Account can be stored with the travel agency, the company's own travel centre, online reservation system or directly at the travel service provider.

In contrast to the AirPlus Company Account, which will still be offered by AirPlus, the AirPlus Debit Account is always debited from the clearing account immediately. Yael Klein, Managing Director at AirPlus International says "We are confident that very soon other airlines who have already introduced a credit card fee, or are planning to do so, will exempt the AirPlus Debit Account customers from their surcharge". She went on to say that AirPlus were already in talks on the matter.
