Banks’ e-Mandate solutions for SEPA DD will be too late for Feb 2014. Use alternatives

These services and the supporting infrastructure provide the starting point for their SEPA proposition and mandate service. There is an SDD bounce follow up service to support billers who generate direct debits from their ERP system. AcceptEmail process the bounced direct debits and follow up with e-mail reminders which offer the customer the option of paying from their e-mail inbox.

The AcceptEmail Mandate Service is based on and complies with the SEPA Rulebook. The mandate management service is available via the customer’s e-mail inbox and/or on the biller’s portal. The process for a new mandate is as follows:

  1. customer requests a mandate in inbox or webpage:

      2. customer fills in missing data

      3. AcceptEmail send a penny SEPA credit transfer to the account to check it is a valid account:

      4. Mandate is complete:

Mandates can be cancelled using the same process and are confirmed by e-mail.

As part of their direct debit support service, AcceptEmail also offer a pre-notification service.

Charges are based on a subscription model starting at about € 100 per month and a per-mandate fee including 13-month storage. Fees depend on volumes of mandates but range from 20 eurocent to 1 euro for small volumes.

The starting point for this SEPA compliant Direct Debit e-mandate service is a proven large-scale bill payment service that is used by millions of consumers. This service is available today anywhere as it is a Software-as-a-Service ready for use on the cloud. Why wait for the banks’ solutions that may or may not arrive and are going to be too late anyway? There are now alternatives. (See also PAY.ON SEPA Direct Debit e-mandate facility from P4 Solutions.)
