Currently, most guarantee management uses paper documents for requests, issuing, commissioning and confirming between corporate and banks for hedging counter-party risk, etc. The recent tm5 update for Bellin TMS included a facility for transmitting guarantee documentation to banks electronically using the EBICS standard, so the whole process can be can be electronic if the bank has the corresponding internal systems too.

BELLIN has carried out a successful pilot of their new electronic guarantee facility with a user of tm5 Deichmann and Deutsche Bank. BELLIN believes that they are the first TMS supplier to offer this functionality.
