Earthport extends low-cost cross-border payments infrastructure to India

Earthport, the global electronic payment services provider, is launching a new payments route into India.

The new route will allow clients (mainly banks) to leverage Earthport's local payment clearing capabilities to provide payments into India. The opening of the new payments route will also enable Earthport's clients to extend their payments services in the region and launch retail and corporate payment products into India.

Earthport provides white-label cross border payment services. Through its international platform, Earthport offers global payment capabilities in 200 countries worldwide.

The third-party payment systems are growing far faster than the banks as their infrastructure and systems enable them to offer payment services at a fraction of the banks's costs. Some large corporates use Earthport direct cutting the costs making international payments significantly.
