Enterprise Risk Management is becoming really possible as cloud technology matures
by Kylene Casanova
Xactium, a leading enterprise cloud computing company delivering Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) solutions, will launch in May a new application Xactium Metric Manager “for monitoring, controlling and managing all of your business critical metrics”.
Using all sorts of data feeds and collection techniques, data is brought together from many different sources, including from sales, finance, A/R and A/P, etc., and even from Twitter and other social media. The data is brought together in the cloud based Metrics Manager. Examples from the dashboard shows the types of metric that can be monitored:

The Metrics Manager allows users to drill down to see the base data and how they were calculated.
The range of metrics that companies can collect is unlimited, however, Xactium recommend companies limit the number of metrics to as few as possible and just to ones that can be controlled. Obviously several of the key metrics will include financial, treasury and working capital management performance.
CTMfile take: Xactium is not the only supplier of these cloud based metric management systems. It is likely they will become much more common. Corporate treasurers will need to consider how they will comply/fit in with these types of Enterprise Risk Management systems.
