Happy tenth anniversary SEPA and congratulations!

Just ten years ago, the European Payments Council launched the very first Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA) payment scheme, for credit transfers. All national euro credit transfer schemes of the countries had to be progressively replaced by the pan-European in order to harmonise credit transfer rules in Europe. SEPA now covers 520 million people in 34 countries, it is unprecedented in payment systems history world-wide. The infographic on “10 interesting facts about SEPA” shows the scale of the achievement:
