Seven Sibos sessions corporate treasurers shouldn’t miss

Sibos begins today in Geneva – so which sessions will treasurers find most useful? Here are some that provide insight into topics such as cyber crisis management and the future of blockchain in finance:

  1. Monday 26 September, 15.00: Cyber crisis management workshop
    This two-hour session, developed and managed by FOX-IT, recreates a real world cyber-attack scenario against a fictitious financial institution. Participants need to register as places are limited. The workshop is repeated on Tuesday and Wednesday at 15.00, and on Thursday at 14.00.
  2. Tuesday September, 15.15: Situational awareness maps
    An interactive session that enables participants to define their 'business map', which helps them to then identify opportunities for collaboration, communication, how to link operations with strategy, and get everyone focused on the users and on the part of the map that addresses their needs.
  3. Wednesday 28 September, 10.15: The ultimate corporate wish list
    This session, featuring treasury speakers from Alliance Data, The Global Fund, Mars and Felda Global Ventures Capital, looks at how corporate requirements are changing in the face of new technologies in financial services.
  4. Wednesday 28 September, 15.30: How can technology help in treasury strategy?
    What are key trends and are these innovations targeting large corporates or SMEs? What is the current state of Treasury Management System new entrants and what does the banking community need to do to be aligned? Potentially interesting speakers from Ikea and SAP.
  5. Thursday 29 September, 9.30: Corporate Treasury Perspectives – Overcoming increasing complexity
    Treasurers from UNESCO and Nordex take part in this panel, discussing growing regulatory pressures, tighter budgets and the increasing complexity of the treasury ecosystem. They focus on how ‘SWIFT for Corporates’ can be used to help increase transparency and predictability of cash services.
  6. Thursday 29 September, 11.30: Are disruptive innovations transforming the financial services landscape, or are we simply in the middle of a new technology cycle?
    Speakers from JPMorgan, Hewlett Packard Enterprise and Passion Capital, HM Treasury discuss the impact of new technology on the financial industry and how this will change the way we all do business.
  7. Thursday 29 September, 14.00: DLT and cybersecurity: Sibos week wrap-up
    A selection of panellists sum up the discussions on distributed ledger technology and cyber security throughout the conference.
