SEPA Direct Debit mandate administration is a huge problem in moving from the legacy national direct debit schemes. There is a growing number of DD mandate management systems and services emerging using different technologies. SMS Direct Debit's solution use SMS text messages to manage and approve SDD mandates, as figure below shows.

This solution has been used for the last 10 months in the Netherlands by more than 3.000 charity organisations. By the end of this year, SMS Direct Debit expects their solution will be widely accepted and approved, which can also be deployed in other countries. In the near future, they will be adding the the validation of debtor data from other data sources in order to ensure the authenticity of debtor data and payment details.
