‘The Treasury Managers’ Handbook Asia-Pacific and Australasia’ from ICBC & WWCP

This is the first WWCP Ltd guide to Asia-Pacific and Australasia. It has been sponsored by Industrial & Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) who offer cash management services in all five regions with 4.48 million corporate customers. ICBC has correspondent banking relationships with 1,814 banks in 139 countries.

The country profiles cover 35 countries, including many that most treasurers will never have heard of, using - where possible - the standard WWCP eight sections: working capital management, tax and regulation, banking systems, payments and receipt management, international trade, trade finance, core country information and useful contacts including ICBC coverage in the country.

The countries covered are:

The country coverage is as complete as the WWCP team and their partners could make it, but in places like North Korea they struggled, e.g. ‘Asset-based funding: There is no evidence of asset-based funding in North Korea’, ‘Taxation: No reliable information available’. It must have been a nightmare to research.

CTMfile take: Another essential guide from the WWCP team who are to be congratulated on producing the first serious attempt at charting cash and treasury management in Asia-Pacific and Australasia.
