‘Treasury Managers’ Guide to Barclays in Africa’
by Kylene Casanova
The ground breaking first edition of this excellent WWCP guide ‘The Treasury Managers’ Handbook for Africa’ appeared in 2012 containing the standard foreward and introductory chapters by key Barclays staff, and followed by WWCP cash and treasury management profiles for 55 countries.
2014 guide
The 2014 version is called ‘Treasury Managers’ Guide to Barclays in Africa’ with same introductory pages except that: Maria Ramos - CEO of Barclays Africa Group has a new haircut, the Head of Cash Management at Barclays is now Michael Mueller, Richard Southey - Head of Cash Management Barclays Africa Group looks even happier, and Temi Ofon is now Head of Corporate Banking, Barclays Africa Group.
The guide contains cash and treasury management profiles on 22 countries where Barclays has their own presence or a partner bank representing them plus four case studies. The 22 country profiles have been put together by a combination of the WWCP research team, the corporate tax team at Deloittes, and BCL Burton Copeland. The profiles have all been updated since 2014, e.g. the profile on Malawi lists: the new government, the exchange rate in 2014 Q1, and eight (up from five) countries they have income tax treaties with, etc.
CTMfile take: The WWCP cash and treasury management country profiles are the essential starting point for corporate treasury departments understanding a country. Obtain your copy from your friendly relationship manager at Barclays or buy one from WWCP Ltd at a cost of £55, €70 or $90.
