The latest World Payments Report from CAPgemini, RBS and EFMA is another tour de force with amazing range and depth of analysis. The key findings are mostly expected:
- non-cash payments volumes grew overall by 7.1% (16.9% in emerging markets)
- cards (debit and credit) account for 55.%% of all non-cash payments with debit cards accounting for more than one in three of all payments, partly due to the use of cards for smaller-ticket items
- electronic and mobile payments maintained their rapid growth trajectory
- cheque usage continues to decline world-wide.
